Bread & Roses
As one of the Seven Sisters, a group of historical women's liberal arts colleges, Bryn Mawr fosters a unique and almost ritualistic community. With class sizes of around 400 students and a curious, passionate, and expressive student body, the campus is a living space made whole by those who attend. The pieces in this project explore the deep connections, the processes of self-exploration and identity, and the beauty in finding community at such a young age.
As an artist, Delia, views care for self and the cultivation of community as central to their artistic process. Bryn Mawr provided Delia with a blueprint for what community and care should look like. These paintings explore these relationships and the sacred experience of friendship.
